Four steps to implementing innovation & change - the Indigo triangle

Innovate > Evaluate > Communicate > Activate

What we do

After years of fine tuning with clients in the public and private sectors, we have developed simple solutions that address complex organisational issues. Many of our clients are looking for change, an improvement and innovation to deliver tangible results.

There are four key barriers to implementing change, which we have summarised in the ‘Indigo Triangle’ model.  For each barrier, Indigo have a solution to ensure success.

Each step, or module can work in isolation, or more commonly, as a total solution – with clients benefiting from all steps.

Consider how you, your team or organisation would benefit with solutions in the following areas:

Step 1:
Innovate (‘having an idea ‘, ‘on-demand innovation’)

The problem?
Organisations are operating in ever more demanding and competitive sectors where ‘staying ahead of the game’ is vital. The reality is that many are reactive and find new idea generation time consuming and challenging. Often, it simply won’t happen, it will be business as usual and the necessary changes just won’t be made.

The Indigo solution:
Indigo provide structured techniques to stimulate creative and innovative ideas – ‘on demand’ - as the norm. Some of the techniques used include Dr Edward de Bono’s Lateral Thinking™ and Simplicity

Step 2:
Evaluate (‘Does our idea work? Is it a good idea? Should we do it?’)

The problem? Many organisations spend hours in meetings, deliberating what is right and what is wrong. The outcome is often hours of wasted productivity with little output.

The Indigo solution:
Harnessing the power of the Six Thinking Hats® training, software and online learning module, you can dramatically reduce decision making and meeting times using ‘parallel thinking’. Overcome egos, eliminate conflict and bring opposing forces together for focused decision making using Dr Edward de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats®, 24x7™ Software, Direct Attention Thinking Tools (DATT)™ and Focus on Facilitation

Step 3:
Communicate (‘selling your ideas and getting buy-in’)

The problem?
When was the last time you sold?  Well in fact we all sell a lot more than we think.  When you go for an interview, ask for more budget on a project, pick up the phone and look for someone to do something – you are always persuading (or selling to) others.  The challenge is not just to know you need change and innovation, but how to persuade and communicate that change with clarity, brevity and impact to ensure ‘buy in’, clear understanding and the ‘sale’ of your thoughts and ideas.

The Indigo solution:
Indigo deliver communication techniques which ensure clarity, brevity and impact across formal, informal and written communication. Some of the techniques used include: Think on Your Feet®, Writing Dynamics™, The Skilled Presenter™, E-mail Intelligence™ and Indigo’s Complete Presenter.

Step 4
Activate (‘Making it happen. Doing it right’)

The problem?
We have had a good idea, evaluated it, communicated it and it has been approved to ‘go live’.  Now we need to make this project ‘fly’.  But projects are high risk and dangerous – yet all of us manage them, on a daily basis. We may not carry the title of ‘project manager’, but the reality of our working roles is one of multi tasking, working to deadlines, budget and striving to achieve desired end  results – making us all ‘project managers’, in our own right. Projects require both hard and soft skills to bring measurable success.

The Indigo solution:
Indigo deliver techniques for technical and non technical ‘project and programme managers,’ to deliver projects on time, to budget and to the desired end result. Put simply, providing the tools to ‘make it happen’.  Some of the techniques used include ‘The Project Management Survival Guide’ and ‘Making Programmes Fly’.
