I am both thrilled & haply surprised to hear about the Positive News Agency proposal.

In 2008, someone proposed that to be regulated by law in the Romanian Parliament, but it died out quickly as some media representatives extinguished the initiative seeking the so called 'freedom of speech' argument clause.

Personally, I certainly believe that it will eventually emerge out of the 'darkness' of nowadays news flood like a lotus flower, overshadowing the mud around.

If we think of a simple metaphorical vision, where positive news are made of light and the prevalent negative news are like darkness, it would make sense to explore - and thus understand easily - that wherever there is lack of goodness & goodwill trouble manifests itself - absorbing (and sometimes imprisoning) our impulsive attention (capturing our time and even life breath too often) - leaving the dark night of error instead of the effulgent day of joy.

But, as the morning of hope ALWAYS sheds light upon the lack of it over the ending night, so shall sooner or later Positive News Agency initiative will ignite the sparkle of useful truths.

When uttering the above, I was inspired by the Writings of Baha'u'llah (1817-1892), who shared with humanity some century & a half ago, this Positive News:

"So powerful is the Light of Unity that it can illumine the whole world!" - www.bahaullah.org

I am sincerely grateful to anyone who sacrificed time to read this comment.

How about combining the old children's game of Red Rover with High Jumping? Two teams lined up facing each other and the object of the game is for each player on the opposing team to try to leap over the opposing line. If she/she makes it, they stay on their team, if they don't, they are out of the game. Keep playing until one team is gone.

Is this maybe the first time in history that someone actually went in search of positive news I wonder. It would require some really special comprehension of what PN actually is, given the cultural factors at play in deciding. Somehow everybody knows what bad news is but good news has many people baffled.

It's a bit like humour. Some people get the joke , some people will never get the joke. This bafflement has something to do with cultural boundaries, often.

Also,

Jen Weigel tells us we should "follow our own truth". How would it actually be possible to do otherwise?

I am the author of The Artist Within, A Guide to Becoming Creaively Fit. I will be presenting a PACE session at this year's CPSI Conference. I wanted to refer you to another website: www.staytunedwithjen.com She was a news anchor in Chicago (her Dad was THE sports anchor in Chicago in the 80's-90's) anyway in her book, Stay Tuned by Jen Weigel, she talks about her pursuit of covering positive news. She has taken some stabs at exactly what you are talking about. I will send her this link as well. Hope you check her out (and my book)! It is all about spreading the positive energy to create CHANGE!

Edward,
It's been many years since you invited me to join you at the EDS meeting in Dallas, yet the day remains well fixed in my mind. We had some fun with synesthetic and diacritic thinking, lunch among the Remingtons and dinner at the Energy Club. - Memorable, and a privilege to be with you.

I love your ebne noted here... so true with the current thinking about psych medications, excellent but simply not enough coalescent thinking to prevent the many downstream effects. The rest of my time here will be spent pulling all the mind-biology variables into useful parcels, perhaps not as transformative as the 6 Hats, but moving smartly in that direction.

Hope all is well, - good to see you still creating real solutions that answer the platitudes of narrow vision and reductionistic thought!
Warm regards,
Chuck

Hi Ben.

Many thanks for your comments. These internationally recognised courses, whilst excellent in their way, really focus on getting you through an exam or test paper, so that you can have the title for your CV. Our courses concentrate on giving people real, hands-on skills, to help them deliver their projects more successfully. The choice is purely down to the delegate and organisation, however, our clients tell us it's the results and lasting impact that count - not the 'slip of paper'. Our Project Team, headed up by Trish Thurley remain in greater demand than ever, with client bookings for training and consultancy running well into 2009.

The choice is entirely personal, but I know which way I'd rather go - the same as our thousands of clients have!

Many thanks.

I have to say that the majority of my daily conversations at least touch on this massive "credit Crunch" subject. I am having trouble motivating my teams in these times and want to find ways to engage their creativity.
Will take a further look round your website.
